It's easier for my dog to walk
In my area there is a wide "circle strip" with little traffic. This leash allows me to stay on the sidewalk while my dog can explore. She can stop to sniff and I can keep walking, then she will run a little to catch up and then overtake me. I think she has more experience and gets more exercise than with a shorter leash. The large width makes it easy to grab when I need to keep it close.
