I have this to pull Moen valves that have been installed for years (assume 35 since the house was then built). I couldn't pull it out with pliers, before that I ordered this puller. The puller worked the first time. The valve body is not damaged. The puller doesn't want to stick directly to the valve body with a wrench to turn the puller, but this is easily done with one hand while the other turns the wrench. Like most specialty tools, it feels a bit overpriced. But I think you should compare that to the cost of hiring a plumber.
