Review on Dorman 03006 Univ Brake Cable by Joe Duncan

Installed this imitation to remove (suck up) excess parking brake cable. Just by looking at the production technique I immediately contacted the manufacturer: Dorman Co. I was emailed back by a technician: Nick - that they are sold in large quantities and the quality/materials, tubular rivets etc - were first class. I really didn't want to install this Dorman part - but we installed it and once put the handbrake on and the part folded up like a cheap sun lounger. Disappointed with the manufacturer - Dorman - has nothing to do with quality control, design, production control (we didn't even really look at the rivets); the bend of the cable hook is partially bent; The cable hook threads have increased by 50% over the length of the turnbuckle - not far enough compared to the Raybestos. A cheap Chinese imitation that looks like a quality American product.
