For regular rides, be it road or trail, they're comfortable enough to last all the time and offer good traction on the more unstable sections of the trail. The only time I felt any discomfort with these grips was after 20 miles in a quarter of a century when the pads on my hands started to wear out and I got a blister the next day. These pens aren't made for long trips and trips, however, so they do exactly what they need when I need them. The colors matched my bike's color scheme very well, they are comfortable, easy to fit and durable. . I am very happy with this pair of pens.
