Relatively cheap, easy to use and effective. What more can you ask for? Sure, there are some false positives around town, but with a mute button mounted right at the base of the chord AND an auto-mute feature, it's not bad. Also, I'd rather be angry for a few seconds than get a $200 ticket. My escort paid off in about 3 weeks: I was driving down the road at 55mph approaching 70 and suddenly the Ka-Range alarm started going insane. I didn't see anything until I walked another 2 miles down the road and indeed the cop hit the people in front of me with an instant shot. Could definitely be me if I didn't have my escort. (And not to mention he saved me 6 or 7 times on the freeway last weekend while driving into Georgia.) For the price, it's worth it if it saves you even once, so there aren't any Questions about my question ... doubt. Remember it's worth it. EDIT: Having owned this product for over a year and also used the 8500IX and Redline I have to say this is still a solid little detector. It doesn't have the best range and lacks a lot of handy features, but for a $200 detector it really isn't a bad thing. Decent range and sensitivity, cheap, fairly effective. I think this would be a great first detector for anyone.
