Review on Snug Fastener Phillips Screws SNG88 by Scott Ramu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Countersunk head wood screws work well for me, like Philips Over Spline Drive

What hasn't been said about a low head wood screw? This concept has been around since at least 100 BC. and is considered one of the "simple machines" that made civilization possible. The history lesson is over. This pan head screw is designed for countersunk installation. Brass is often a good choice where moisture can be a factor: brass does not rust. If the screw is visible and looks irrelevant, I think brass looks better than steel. But brass isn't as strong as steel, and Philips head slots are easier to clean than steel. When using brass screws like these in hardwood, I drill a pilot hole. This serves two purposes: it makes screwing in easier and greatly reduces the chance of wood splintering. These screws are what I would expect from a short pan head brass screw. I think Snug did a good job here and the few I needed worked great. Because they give me everything I want from this marketable product, I give them 5 stars.
