Review on Pro-Grade Horizontal Construction Inclinometer Protractor by Sam Doucette

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Digital fee is up.

I got this for making an intricate stair railing. Instead of taking a few measurements and doing trigonometry, this saved me a lot of time. I have several good quality spirit levels and the first thing I did was test it on them to make sure it was on the right level. The digital goniometer was perfect, but his level was miles off. I then used it to measure some angles and cut some test boards on my miter saw. The angles are perfect and tested with my familiar planes. So I started cutting expensive oak planks and all the cuts lined up perfectly based on the digital gauge readings. So this does exactly what I wanted, but his spirit level sucks. That's fine with me, but if you want a good spirit level, you have to spend significantly more money. The digital sensor has an absolute attitude (level to the world) and a base attitude (change from a given object). Both worked very well. I really want to give it 5 stars and I probably would if it didn't even have a bubble level. But since he has a bad one, I would be afraid that someone would trust him.
