Review on Swift Shank: Cutting-edge Stainless Steel Spearfishing Knife for Precision and Efficiency by Neil Bodell

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I like the size and for a kill knife it fits the bill.

I have bought two of these in the last three years. I like the size and not bad for a hunting knife. Difficult to put it back in the holder when attached to a rubber diving belt. You must carefully protect the tip when returning it to its place to avoid cutting yourself. The retention system is great, it slides back into place cleanly and is easily removed if needed. The small size is great for holding on to if you are used to silencing fish. It's easy to drop, but it's a compromise that I don't have to carry around a bulky knife and can live with that part. The main disadvantage is that it rusts very easily. I wash my knife in clean water after each use, but both knives I've had are only good for one season before they rust and become unusable. So they are a little cheap, I like the compact carrying aspects and the attachment system. Stainless steel or titanium could be the answer, costs will increase, but then you don't have to replace it every season.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Band
