I was very happy with the brake switch and it worked as it originally should have. I have a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT and I noticed that the cruise control wasn't working when I tried to turn it on. My brake lights worked but the cruise control didn't work. I figured this out by pressing the cruise control button on the left side of the steering wheel and then pressing the setup button which is under the cruise control button. When this light comes on on the dashboard, your cruise control is working. If this light does not come on after you press the "Set" button, your cruise control is not working properly and you likely have a faulty brake switch. When I press Set on my application, nothing happens. I did some research and found that this is probably the problem. For $13 I realized it was worth trying. Today I received the part which was in a small ACDelco plastic bag inside a medium sized mailer. You will need a 10mm ratchet wrench, a flashlight and a flat head screwdriver. As long as you stick with it, you can remove this clamp. After about 20 minutes of work, I was able to complete the job and take the truck for a test drive. Caution: You must be at 25 mph to use cruise control. The cruise control finally worked and I smiled all the way home! I highly recommend trying this if your cruise control isn't working.
