Right out of the box and in the car I replaced the unit myself. I have found that it is not difficult at all. 4 sets of bolts together around the motor and two together. The unit comes without screws but I bought 6 at a local hardware store. I believe they were m6 metric but don't quote me. Don't buy more than an inch because it's too long, not too short because the short length makes installation and adjustment much easier. Plug and play so it plugs directly into the wire harness. The rail that is held at the bottom of the window also has two bolts. During assembly I was alone at first, I had clamped cardboard to hold the window but later I had an assistant to lower the window during assembly and align the glass in the track. Just remember that after removing the guide, nothing will hold the glass, it can fall and break. Installation is easiest with the window open.
