🚗 Front Left Driver Side Power Window Regulator with Motor for 1996-2000 Honda Civic Coupe/Hatchback Review

Works well in my Civic EX 99. Very quickly, especially after applying silicone to the tracks. Easy installation - took about 30 minutes. The only thing worth noting is that you lose the auto descent feature, which I don't care. I will also buy the other side.

Wrong motor polarity (down goes up and vice versa), window mounting holes are wrong, they should be =0=0, not 0==0 Otherwise the ESC works fine. I'm giving 3 stars because of the poor build quality (I don't know if I received a defective model) but I'll live with that for now.

I am giving 5 stars because my customer was happy that his window is now ok. However, the switch works in reverse: when you press the window switch the window goes up, when you press the window switch the window goes down. I swapped the connector but the only way that works is the reverse way. Very easy installation, looks intimidating when the old one is dirty.

This product would have received 4-5 stars if the wiring had not been reversed. Removal and installation was quite easy. But when I checked it, top was bottom and bottom was top. Thank goodness several Honda forums have found a solution. It took me more time to swap out the cables than to install the entire unit. I was going to buy one for the passenger side but I think I'll go with another brand. I got what I paid for 🤷🏽‍♂️

You get what you pay for. The window mounts were not done properly and had to be modified to actually hold the glass. The plug was then connected incorrectly and went up when lowered and up when lowered, also had to rewire other cables to make the auto lowering work. Unless you're mechanically inclined I highly recommend buying elsewhere as it's far from a direct plug and play fit.

Job done and I'm glad I can finally open the window. A few questions.1. You will lose the auto kneel feature if your Civic has it. I have a 98 EX 2DR and it doesn't support the auto power off feature.2. You cannot replace a stock motor with this build. I tried it and the position of the screws don't match.3. And finally the direction changes for me. That means you have to push the normal window buttons for the driver and passenger windows in opposite directions to do the same thing. Annoying…

The quality of this ESC+motor exceeded my expectations. It looks and feels very durable and well built. It fit my 1998 Honda Civic EX 2-door coupe with no problems, just like the OEM. My old adjuster, which was an original part, kept pushing the glass off its tracks and didn't hold my window in place, leaving a 2" gap from my window frame on the door. Right out of the box and in the car I replaced the unit myself. I have found that it is not difficult at all. 4 sets of bolts together around the motor and two together. The unit comes without screws but I bought 6 at a local hardware store. I believe they were m6 metric but don't quote me. Don't buy more than an inch because it's too long, not too short because the short length makes installation and adjustment much easier. Plug and play so it plugs directly into the wire harness.
