Review on Bonavita Connoisseur BV1901TS: Premium 8-Cup One-Touch Stainless Steel Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe and Hanging Filter Basket by Scott Clayton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great coffee from a simple elegant machine

I've been using it for 3 weeks now and am very satisfied so far. The coffee is real brewed and tastes way better than the old Cuisinart Grind N' Brew I've had for years. They appear to have addressed 2 people's complaints about the 1900 model. This carafe is 1.3 liters while the old carafe was 1.7 liters. A small carafe retains heat better. Also, this one pours properly and doesn't leave extra ounces on the bottom like some people wrote about the old decanter. The filter basket is now suspended from the top of the unit (on rails) instead of resting on the decanter during brewing. It is a simple one button device with no programming features. The only (small) problem is that the lid of the carafe has nowhere to attach when not in use. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Do you think the engineers responsible for making such a good machine can solve the lid issue? Before cooking, also remove the appliance from under the cupboard. There is a lot of steam coming out of the openings above the filter basket.

Pros
  • One touch brews for ease of use
Cons
  • thin
