This product is phenomenal for the purposes I use it for. I've been trying to find something similar to join sheet metal together to accommodate gears and it works great. It has nine power levels, giving the tool flexibility in different projects. Caution - the ninth power level can burn a hole in thin sheet metal. Use lower power levels - maybe work with the lowest setting and work your way up until you find a weld that suits your project. I've tried using this on aluminum brass sheet metal and it doesn't bind. After a little experiment it turned out that it only joins materials with high conductivity (e.g. NOT aluminium-brass alloys - this welder works on the idea of barc welding). I've used it on nickel plates, iron and copper sheets and it works! There are probably more professional ways of holding small materials together (soldering, epoxy, etc.), but this one really works. No matter what, I love this little dude!
