It just works! in Computers & Accessories

As a Linux user, I'm used to having to put in a little more effort to get components working with my computer. My current device only works as a 2.4GHz antenna, so I wanted to take advantage of the higher speeds in the 5.0 spectrum. I bought a wireless adapter from another vendor on Revain that claimed to work with Linux but after hours of struggling the issue still didn't work. I returned it and then bought this item because Linux support was much more prominent in the description. (Though I feared it would be more of the same.) How wrong I was! When I opened the package, it contained a Linux installation CD! (I usually expected to have to go to Github to download the drivers and compile them.) Instead, the installation disk came with a very clear PDF with installation instructions and an installation script that worked with a couple of clicks. I plugged in the adapter and logged onto my 5.0GHz WiFi and wow! What is the speed increase. Using 2.4GHz, I got download speeds of 20Mbps. With this adapter it jumped to 173. I am very happy with this adapter which works absolutely as advertised. And vendor support for Linux made setup easy. Great product, great seller and extremely positive experience. Too bad I didn't start here first.

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • So far so good
