Review on 🚚 Towever 84181 Class 3/4 Trailer Hitch Tri Ball Mount with Hook (Black, Hollow Shank) - Perfect for Pickup Truck Tow Hitch Receiver by Kevin Harmon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for 2 " receivers Heavy duty no problem

Updated 15-Sep-21 - almost three years later. Bought a small perch boat on a trailer. inside, beginning with the last episode, described below. Removed and no rust. Just the way I like it. Now you know why I take it off and keep it in! In any case, the PLUS hook has proved indispensable on several sizes of hitch balls in an unexpected way. See the trailer and boat are older, and it turned out I needed a bullet just under 2" (although the trailer accepts a 2" bullet) - because a 2" bullet doesn't really want to go in . Slightly smaller, although in this case it worked great when I brought the boat home the day after buying it. Retrofitting the trailer hitch and drawbar in any case soon, but at least. I stand by my 5 star rating for this product. Bought for my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 (Hemi-8) with matching ball hitch. Bought a used jeep in very good condition with tow hitch but ball/hitch was missing. The first step was towing my 2000 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a fuel pump problem out of a deep yard in the dirt with a slight incline. Bought a proper 10,000 pound tow sling with hooks on the ends and fitted this ball hitch to the jeep with the hook in the vertical position. Note. Be sure to order the driving pin/split pin separately if you don't have one as this coupler is not included. I almost got it right because the jeep didn't have a split pin/splint either. Continue to symmetrically connect the two ends of the strap hook to the Ford on the front frame below, and simply slide the strap loosely over the hitch hook to allow it to find its own center as you pull. Worked like a charm, the hook and strap held and got the Ford out of there in about 10 minutes. Removed and stored when not in use so I'm not aware of any rusting issues and no lock/key actuating pin head is required here. Has worked great for my needs and when it is necessary to tow a trailer I now have all the standard sizes on one drawbar. Very cool!

Pros
  • Great for small homes
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
