Seeing this on a Reddit thread I decided to buy one because the raclette is awesome. From the photos it looked like the item would be a little flimsy, but despite being a simple item it feels solid. I was skeptical that tea lights would melt the cheese properly, but they bring it down to the perfect gooey consistency for you to pop in some chips. So far I've used raclette and gruyere and both worked well and slid right off the tray, although gruyere was a bit stickier and a bit dangling from the spatula. If you like raclette but don't have the space or budget for a fancy melter, then that's pretty cool.
