It's never a bad idea to have a couple of thermometers in the kitchen and it's a great option to complement more sophisticated cordless grill or stovetop thermometers. It reads quickly and is accurate in my tests, at least compared to my other thermometers. I like the large body size as it helps make the device easier to use, especially when working with a hot pan with something you need temperature for. I think adding an extra battery was also a nice touch for the customer. . The display isn't the biggest I've seen, but it's very, very easy to read and the backlight is strong, which is nice when you're having a late-night BBQ outside. It turns on instantly and once the sensor is in the meat or sauce, it reads the reading. Really good value for money.
