Review on ๐Ÿ” 2022 FOXWELL Scanner Bluetooth NT809BT: All System BiDirectional Scan Tool with 30+ Resets & CAN-FD Protocol by Darius Early

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not suitable for Lexus.

The good news first, this all-in-one tablet is a great device. It is very hard-wearing, fits comfortably in the hand and withstands the rigors of workshop work. The screen is bright, the touch part is responsive, the battery lasts for several days. The OBD dongle is very high quality, heavy and crammed with electronics. The plastic body is also of good quality. Tried this device on four machines. Two Lexus, a Toyota and a Kia. Toyota and Kia worked right out of the box and if I had just tested those two machines it would have been a five star scanner. . . but I didn't, I pulled out a troubled Lexus. One of these Lexus became a thorn in the side of other scanner vendors and the second Lexus, of a different make and model, was tried for the first time. None of them worked. The last seller whose tool didn't recognize this Lexus asked to see a video of this event, but the video would be too long. I decided to compromise and took a lot of screenshots. Hopefully the screenshots and my description of what I did help the vendor resolve this issue so they can update their software. The tablet has a very nice function, as you will see, it updates itself and all the information about the car model. If foxwell team send me software update message i will try again but they had better double check and make sure because i will try again. I did not take any pictures of the device itself. as is well illustrated in the product description. I spend all my images on software. First, the tablet has been updated, and all car models have been updated last week. New updates came out a few days ago, but I didn't download all of them, only Toyota and Lexus files. As you can see, Lexus has already been considered updated. After updating the key I tried to run diagnostics and asked them to read my VIN automatically. He went through all the logs and then a window popped up asking him to enter it manually, which I did. When I hit enter, I was presented with a list of three options: Hino, Lexus, and Toyota. I select Lexus and then get an error message with a big red X saying the diagnostic software is wrong! By clicking OK I went back home and re-entered my VIN manually and selected Japan (this particular Lexus was made in Japan). After "Please wait for the data to load" I get a message about a Toyota Supra car I click "No" and then an information window comes up saying "No connection". The top bar shows the VCI is connected and when you look at the VCI it lights up like the documentation says. I've tried many times over several days. This has been the longest time I've spent reviewing any Revain item, so I'm confident I've tried fairly. It should be noted that I checked the 5 star OBD software tool/key for this Lexus so I know the machine is running. See my profile for this review. Sorry Foxwell team, I don't want to be a fly in the ointment, but if you can confirm that you work on all major North American Lexus models from 2012-2020, I know this particular Lexus will be on the line. Good luck and let me know if you do a software update and I'll get back to reviewing it.
