Review on 🌐 DeLorme AG-008727-201 InReach Explorer: Advanced Satellite Communicator with Integrated Navigation by Timothy Wall

I bought these in June 2015 and have been using them on the Freedom Plan for a few years with no problems. I've used it to send/receive text and email in remote areas of Alaska. Now that Garmin has bought the company, it's very unreliable. Does not update firmware, does not allow you to update your account or password. A few weeks ago it stopped working completely in the Alaskan outback after working normally in the same area. Unreliable. Customer service doesn't respond - doesn't respond to emails or when you try to call you sit on hold forever with no call back. It's a shame it used to work well, now unreliable and the service terrible. My solution is to ditch it, buy a satellite phone instead and spread the word about how unreliable Garmin devices are.
