I've heard so much about Fat Max tapes that I had to try them on the house we are building. I bought two 25' tapes and one 40'. They were delivered to me on April 1st 2020 so maybe that explains what happened once I used them. 40" tape was enough for 3 measurements. All 3 were 37 ft-3 inches. On the third and final measurement, the tape returned so quickly that it ended up snapping, almost cutting the tape in two at about the 2" mark ripped in half. I also cut my finger in the process. The 25' tape (which I bought in a pack of two) lasted two days with average use. Since I needed to use up most of the 25' capacity of the tape, I knew I was almost at the tape limit, and sure enough, as I approached the 24 foot mark, I saw a red warning on the tape, but the tape immediately unwound inside and I stayed with the fully off Spring mechanism separated band back. Can't figure out how to reattach it so it's toast. The thumb switch on all three bands requires both hands to use enough force to slide it into the locking position. Not at all happy with mine new FatMax tapes and after hearing how popular they are I am very surprised at the poor quality.
