The product itself is excellent and would work as intended if Comcast weren't so complicated. The first rep I spoke to told me the device was EOL and could not be activated. The second rep I spoke to told me the device was EOL for internet but should work fine for phone calls. He was able to connect it with the model number TM822R. It worked for about an hour and then stopped. I called back the next day and spoke to Level 3 tech support. They attempted a few fixes and got it working again. Worked 2 days and stopped again. When I called back they told me the device was an EOL and even though they activated it as a TM822R on the backend they could see it was a TM602G and it kept turning off. The moral of the story is that the device will work, but Comcast does. does not allow this and continues to throw him out of his net. I broke down and bought the official TM822R and it works fine. If this changes I will come back and update my comments. I hope this saves someone the headache I've had to deal with. Comcast has to be paid by several modem manufacturers that have listed them on their website as that would be the only logical explanation as to why they don't allow it.
