Review on ๐Ÿถ SportDOG YardTrainer Family Remote Trainers - Waterproof Dog Training Collars with Rechargeable Battery, Static, Vibration, and Tone Options by Alexandra Griego

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Lightweight and great tool for dog training. Used on Australian Kelpie

This e-collar is very easy to use. Before training an e-collar, your dog must learn basic commands. Apply stimulation only after a command that the dog didn't obey. Unless it was a bite, the command not obeyed should be the only time you stimulate the dog. Ease of use: Place the receiver and transmitter on the charger for 2 hours before use. Place the collar around the dog's neck, then trim off the excess length (the collar is a length the Hulk can wear). Turn on the Receiver Collar by pressing the power button. Fasten the collar on the dog so that 1 finger is under the collar (not too tight). The transmitter is always on (no on/off button) but only consumes power when you press any of its 3 buttons. Beep, vibration and electrical stimulation are just 3 buttons plus an intensity wheel. 3 buttons and a wheel. The wheel adjusts the intensity from 1 to 8. I found the setting 1 on the 1st sufficient. Our dog squeaked when he felt the first stimulation. He also kept looking at his body, where it came from. The result was an end to the bad behavior that night. As the days went by, our dog seemed to resist Setting 1 and continued to bark when stimulated. At setting 2 the behavior decreased again. The strongest setting we had to use on our dog in 2 months was 3. The end result was outstanding. A well-behaved dog with a renewed respect for the owner's commands. Conclusion: Very easy to use. Never use a horn as this can confuse your dog. The vibration is a good warning to the dog that stimulation may follow if the behavior persists. 3 is the strongest install in 2 months. Hasn't been used in the water so can't comment on that. The battery lasts for every trip. When used at home, the transmitter's signal reaches the collar through walls or obstacles in your home. Our dog is very sensitive to irritation from the collar. Over time, your dog will learn to behave without the E-Collar. Example: Commands like "Let go" when a dog wants to eat or attack something were learned with 3 stimuli. Apply stimulation only after a command that the dog didn't obey. Unless it was a bite, the command not obeyed should be the only time you stimulate the dog.
