Well this tool was a real surprise for me. I understand it was probably designed by an engineer many moons ago and is a copy made in China, but it's still impressive. The design causes it to compress more and more as you use more force, even to the point where the filter itself will flex when removed when needed, creating its own indentations for even more support. By turning it the other way, you can use it to reach the last 3/4 turn of a large diesel oil filter without scratching the filter surface. I used this on my 2008 Tiffin with a Cummins ISC 8.3 360hp engine and it worked great. I think I'll be buying other sizes of this for my jeep as it works so well and creates such a positive grip.
