Glad to know someone is making a replacement for a pin that inevitably breaks on older GM products. YouTube videos mention the need to grind the knurled burr area at the top of the pin section that presses into the steel hinge. I can verify this as I had to put the pin in a drill and use a file to smooth out the burrs. They increase the diameter so much that it is almost impossible to install the pin without using excessive force. Sawing the ribs still leaves the pin diameter large enough to require hammering force to install. There is no way the pen can fall out as it also has a clip at the top. Just watch out for the ribbed section that needs to be filed or sanded.
