This may cause a fire. When plugged in with no devices connected, it measures 60°C below the surface at an ambient temperature of 20°C. Under load, the temperature rises to 85 degrees and everything slows down. Imagine what happens when the ambient temperature drops to 35-40 °C in summer. I'm pretty sure there is a design or voltage specification issue with this unit. I've never had a USB hub get that hot just when I plugged it in. If they fix this problem I will check out this hub again. I love all the links it provides.
