Review on πŸ”’ Dorman 746-162 Door Lock Actuator Motor: Ideal Replacement for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Models by Joseph Long

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Check before installing.

The one I bought from Revain was DOA. Bought as a warehouse deal (stupid move for auto parts, huh?), someone probably returned it upon realizing it was bad and resold it. Had to buy a double price from Auto Zone to assemble the car. Make sure the drive lever moves freely when you get yours. As another said, the landing is bad. The original drive snaps into the locking mechanism very securely, it just slides along the rails and doesn't want to stay there. I didn't epoxidize it like another user, time will tell if I regret that choice or not. Hoping that when installed it's gripped enough so it doesn't fall out. For the average home mechanic working on a Ford door mechanism for the first time, this was a PITA to install. But now that I know how it all fits together, I think I could replace it again in a lot less time.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • slightly wrinkled
