This is a really well made jacket with lots of nice features. I actually bought this for myself as XL guys are about the same size as very small women and I've always really liked the Marmot. The fleece jacket is very soft. The sleeves are held in place with a wrist button and a very easy to use zipper. The outer shell protects well against wind and water. I recently tested this on a vacation to Atlanta where it rained and fogged all day. It kept me perfectly dry and toasted. My only complaint is that the rain hood is a bit small and can use half an inch to an inch more fabric. The hood was a bit tight and still covered the eyes, although the rest of the jacket fitted well. This is a durable and well tailored jacket. The quality of the fabric is excellent and the stitching is rigorous and should withstand abuse from boys.
