Once installed they work great. I used the long black on my standard toilet. I had to wash them with soap. ****Insert the SCREW about 3/4 into the black bushing and use a rubber mallet to simply hit the top of the screw while it is in the whole and it will compress for a snug fit. Then loosen the screw and put the seat back and tighten. I installed it twice on the same toilet after we got the bidet. After a year my seat wobbles a bit, but it's very minimal, but consider I weigh 400 pounds. The wife and children say they don't play on the seat. UPDATE *** I installed this while visiting my relatives. However, they didn't have a rubber mallet, so I used a mallet. So I decided to use a smaller black case instead of a long one. I screwed the screw 3/4 into a small black sleeve and shampooed it. Then I hit the top of the screw with a hammer until it went all the way through and was flush. Remove the screw, install the seat and tighten. The seat is still there.
