Review on 🧢 Lacis Yarn Ball Winder - In-Line by Jessica Lewis

Not worth it

I didn't expect this to be an amazing winding machine for the price, but I didn't expect to be so disappointed with it either. The yarn "jumps" all the time while winding, resulting in messy, tangled strands when trying to use them. The gears twitch when the handle is turned (which is equivalent to skipping threads) and it's quite noisy in use. Then only rewinding the yarn and an already wound skein without tension helped to minimize the jumps - which is pointless, because the result is a huge and fluffy cake that does not hold at all. If you need to wind the yarn from a skein it's totally useless, since the swift pulls the yarn too tight to be smooth, even if the strand is only loosely draped around the swift. I wasn't expecting to like it, but I was hoping it would do its job well enough until I could get something better. It's coming back and I'll invest in a better one right away.
