I'm not a mechanic but have been making my own brakes for 30 years. I've never had a more difficult job than trying to brake on a 2014 equinox recently. I had no problems with the rear brakes, but the front rotors didn't come off. I doused it with PB blaster, knocked out the "blank", smashed it with a flashlight and tried the caliper bolt trick. Nothing helped, so I bought it. With the included straps and my 300-foot-pound impact wrench, the rotor didn't budge. The puller popped out of the rotor at the end. I then completed the rig with a black tie to hold it to the rotor. The puller stopped popping out when I used the impact wrench, but the rotor still wouldn't come loose. I then twisted a 2 foot crowbar with a 1 foot extension. Failed! At that point I gave up and took it to the store. I have since bought a 1200 ft lb impact wrench. Hope this works next time I run into this problem. Note to home mechanics - ALWAYS apply anti-seize lubricant between the wheel hub and rotor.
