Review on πŸ”¨ Metabo HPT NR90AES1 Pneumatic Collated Nailer by Jonathan Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very Strong Nailer Highly Recommended

When I was building the shed I was advised to use a frame nailer to speed up the process. After much deliberation and reviews, I chose this one mainly because of the affordability and the good reviews it already had. I tested very sensitive to the nails used. This Hitachi I got with a companion that includes 1000 2.5" zinc plated frame nails and I have 2 strips left after the barn is done and it didn't glue once. With a 90psi setting on your compressor, this guy drives nails perfectly flush, both angled and straight. It sped up my project and even with the 6 gallon compressor off you can get some nails in before it needs to be charged. I found it a bit heavier (just for its weight but I haven't used any other frame nailer to compare so this might be just what it is). I would recommend buying or having a longer air hose for manoeuvrability, but that's obviously not due to the product, just something that might make framing a little easier. One downside I want to mention is that the nose is a bit pointy so you will see dents around the nail wherever you show your nose. With wall paneling it doesn't really matter as it's not visible, but with paneling for example you can see a bit of it (although it's easy to fix later with joint compound). I believe there is a nose cap for it, but it costs about $20! To be honest I was expecting this to be part of the kit but hey. :)
