I don't usually like doing housework, but I don't mind vacuuming (which means I end up cleaning the whole family). I've had a Dyson canister vacuum for 7 years and it was great, but our new Australian Shepherd grabbed it and chewed through the power cord to my dismay (thankfully it wasn't plugged in, lesson learned). Anyway, I didn't find anything wrong with the old vacuum (I rather liked it), so I went back to the Dyson. This vacuum is great. It sucks well, maneuvers well, empties the bin easily and cleans (the lack of vacuum bags is a plus for me). What I love about Dyson vacuums is that you can disassemble them to troubleshoot issues like clogs and easily put them back together. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I will note that this vacuum was slightly heavier than my old Dyson vacuum. This isn't a problem for me, but if you have a lot of stairs and don't like carrying things up and down, you might want to keep that in mind.
