Review on ๐Ÿ”ฉ PSI Woodworking L5818 Lathe Headstock Spindle Adapter 5/8-inch โ€“ Shopsmith Compatible โ€“ Converts to 1-inch x 8tpi by Eric Alcantara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beware - I tested it on a 4 " lathe chuck and mounted it on the shopsmith - but

I turned it on, closed the shopsmith and while it was spinning the lathe chuck spun off the adapter . Luckily I had a hockey puck in the jaws of the chuck and when the chuck came loose the hockey puck kept the chuck from flying out because the puck was pressing against the bit I had in place as the chuck was unwound. If it flew, its weight could easily kill or maim me or anyone nearby. I believe that with his power he would easily go through a wooden wall and damage everything on the other side. I don't know what to do to prevent this from folding up, please don't hesitate to help. I just put red loctite on the threads and will wait 24 hours to cure but it might be better to drill a hole and cut it and put a set screw in, but I really hate redoing the chuck since it's perfect and I can drill through something that makes heads turn, so I feel like it's beyond my salary to do it.
