Watch out for negative reviews. You are right.
This starter was the correct part number but the body was too long to fit without modifying the engine heat deflector. The drive failed shortly after installation. According to other reviews, this is a common problem. Beware of the negative reviews, they are correct. I returned the part for a refund and bought an OEM B&S that fits and works perfectly.
