Mac Pro (2013) Ultimate SSD Upgrade Solution

Good for Mac Pro (2013) users, here are the basics. This adapter is great for the dismal SSD upgrade options that Apple has laid out for its customer base. The adapter lets you use most M.2 SSDs, and I just did that by purchasing a 2TB Intel 660P M.2 SSD. A finned heatsink has been added to the SSD (just in case), although this particular SSD runs cooler than most. One caveat: after installing the adapter and the new SSD, you must first boot from either an additional boot disk (like I did) or a USB drive, but both must have Mac OSX High Sierra or higher to use the M .2 SSD. work properly. After booting from the secondary drive go to Disk Utilities and format the new drive to AFPS so that it can use the special SSD features provided by the operating system like containers etc. Once the drive is formatted, go to the Apple website and download the latest version. OSX version for SSD. It took me less than an hour to get up and go to work. Now it's cool to see my Mac Pro running on a fast 2TB drive instead of a quiet 512GB SSD. Recommend this adapter and Intel SSD.
