Plastic mounts are not strong

The overall performance of the product is excellent, but the plastic bracket that holds it to the base is very flimsy. I fish every other day and the mount just broke from wear and tear. Just passed out. Now I have the mount installed on my boat and there is no way to attach an arm. I need to find another type of fastener as I can't constantly replace the entire fastener only to end up with a broken part. The device is only two months old.
