Review on StarTech Com USB C Hard Drive Enclosure by Chris Laznovsky

I bought this drive case to use with SATA SSD for Sony PlayStation 5 extended storage and unfortunately it works for that not purpose. PS5 doesn't like something about ASMedia's case and/or chipset. Regardless of the port, this caused problems for me; a message that the drive didn't eject properly (even though it didn't), the data was corrupt, couldn't be formatted, etc. I have an old StarTech SATA to USB 3.0 cable that I wanted to try it and it works fine with the PS5 so I can't tell if the problem is with the PS5 or the case (PS5 obviously supports USB 3.1 so this case should work). The case works great for PC/Mac, so that's a plus. Unfortunately I bought it specifically for use with my PS5 and as it doesn't work for that purpose I don't actually use it.
