Review on Immerse in Measured Surround Sound: Yamaha YSP-5600 MusicCast Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X by Agata Zimka Semeniuk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

If you want the most correct sound 5.2.1 - put portable reflectors in those places where there are no necessary walls. Yamaha makes YRB-100 for such cases, but they are not sold in 2022, so I made them myself from thick glass. The instructions say Channel angles horizontally / vertically and distances are set so that the sound rays hit the glass and focus there. Well, the processing of the room, of course.

Pros
  • Very good sound, almost the same as in a cinema with Dolby Atmos. I mean, it really works. Another thing is that it is not easy to achieve the correct operation of the system. Personally, I really liked the design - nothing screams and no cheap effects, everything is very serious and functional. Outsiders see just a rounded black box, covered with a fine mesh. And you see 32 point emitters that form 5 midrange sound beams in real time. Acoustic waves calculated/composed according to the principle of superposition scatter in the given directions and form a sound picture. Plus, 12 emitters are directed upwards and add a vertical dimension according to the same principle. Plus 2 woofers give low frequencies that do not need localization.
Cons
  • I had to separately buy a special wall mount, buy a subwoofer. In general, these are not disadvantages. The remote control is an ordinary Yamakhovskiy one, probably its layout was invented 30 years ago. What is really sad - there is not enough technical information on the principles of the system functioning in different sound modes, something has to be selected by random, by ear. The zone of really cool sound turns out to be small, more suitable for egoists or lovers.
