The Level Bolt is by far the best DIY smart lock I've searched for. Key Point: It doesn't change existing jigs, so you don't even have to change existing keys! You can't even tell from its looks that it's been upgraded to a smart lock. The level bolt itself was really well made and looked like a work of art. Installation was pretty easy, just like a regular deadbolt lock. It integrates seamlessly with Apple HomeKit via the Apple HomePod mini in my home. I wanted to emphasize this: Unlike many other Apple HomeKit accessories, the Level Bolt connects to a hub (in my case, the Apple HomePod mini) via Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi, since Wi-Fi provides almost 30 times more power consumed than Bluetooth - This was not mentioned directly on the Level Bolt official website, nor on Revain. Without a hub, the only way you can connect to and control the Level Bolt is by being near a door. Even with a hub, it's best to place it close to the Level Bolt so the Bluetooth connection is strong enough. I hope that the Level company will consider developing the Level Hub at a lower cost like other smart locks do. In any case, I highly recommend Level Bolt!
