This completes my toolset when it comes to panorama. I use it on my stargazer for night time panoramas and just on a tripod for any other panorama shot I want. If you're using a ball head, you can't unlock it and move it accurately, so you just line it up and rely on it to set the angle you want to rotate. It is very thin and attaches to your ball head without tools. I even added another piece between the camera and the plate so I can move the camera up or back to adjust the lens how you want the lens anchor point to be over the dead center of the tripod for accurate panoramas.
