4th: To be honest, there might be something wrong with my desktop's USB ports. When I connect my phone to my computer via USB, it often turns off randomly. I tested the speaker before using my laptop and it worked (20 minute test time). But this is a tricky problem as my mouse, keyboard, printer etc all work. Due to this user issue I'm increasing my rating to 3/5 as I've tried different USB ports on my desktop and it still doesn't work properly and the audio sometimes cuts out for about half a second while I'm testing my laptop. I have already returned this product through Revain and ordered a different speaker that uses a 3.5mm audio jack. Third update: Connecting USB to the front panel did not solve the problem. I don't use my laptop often so this speaker is no longer needed. I've tried asking their support team for help (Edit: They replied on February 28th) but I'm still waiting for their response. I have contacted Revain support and will be returning this product. 2nd update: I put the USB in the front slots of my desktop and that seems to have fixed the problem. Will keep this updated should anything change. I like the sound quality and the power it gives. The manufacturer offers an 18-month warranty, but hopefully I won't have to claim it. Update: Works on my laptop, audio cuts out on my old desktop. Ten minutes later the sound stopped playing. I did some troubleshooting and found that other apps that require sound don't work either, e.g. B. YouTube videos. I've tried updating device drivers, rebooting, disabling sound magic and looking online for help. The only way to continue playing a song is to manually pause or stop it and then play it again. My desktop computer is about ten years old, but I have USB 2.0. I had the same issue with another mouse that worked intermittently, so due to its age the issue could be with my USB ports or drivers (but my Logitech mouse worked fine). I also tested this on my 2018 or so HP laptop and it worked. I played the same 15 minute clip and it played in full. The only thing I noticed was that the audio would sometimes cut out for half a second or so briefly and then continue playing. I find it strange, but when I touched my laptop with static electricity, the same thing happened. I used VLC Media Player for both tests. Otherwise, sound quality and performance are good. The speaker is powerful for its size. For stability reasons, I'd rather buy speakers that DO NOT use USB for audio input or power, and rely on a tried and true 3.5mm audio jack and AC power from a wall outlet. Received and used this speaker immediately. I use this on my desktop and the cable is long enough for any back of my USB port. Installation is simple, plug and play. The volume up and down keys change the Windows volume. I like that only one cable delivers both audio and sound. At 8W, this speaker is far too powerful for its size. 60% volume is enough to fill my large space. The sound quality is good.
