Review on ๐Ÿ  Hydronix HF3 10CLWH34PR: Efficient Housing with Pressure Relief for Optimal Performance by Ryan Sandell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best Value 10 " Filter Housing - Get o-rings (HF2/3) and mounting bracket (either FM-20W or slightly smaller FM-10W)

Called Hydronix and had one real person spoken in california . wonderful people. Very good company, willing to make good products. Filter housing made of very thick polypropylene. Safer for health. There is also a pressure release button to make changing filter elements easier (sold separately. Outlet). The port is somewhat limited, which seems to improve the filter's performance by creating less back pressure and forcing water through more filters rather than the water just going through the filter quickly. The O-ring is 3.25 inches in diameter. The o-ring is 1/8" thick and the material appears to be 70 durometer buna. These o-rings are not Penntex 2.5" o-rings. Filter O-rings: HF2/ 3 O-rings The O-ring was fitted to the filter housing but is a wearing part. Get spare parts. Mounting bracket: FM-20W or narrow version FM-10W. Do not use the Penntek mount as it will not fit this filter housing. Do not use a Penntek o-ring as it will not fit this housing. You need better quality water without the extra stuff that goes into the water from old pipes (remember Flint, Michigan?). After getting this whole house water filter, I'm going to install a reverse osmosis system under the sink with a small second faucet for drinking and cooking water. This filter looks great and is definitely CHEAPER than the competition. I am not affiliated with any filter company. I just love good things. I'm hoping to find something that will hold this filter and a good source of o-rings for this filter housing. Competitor housings have had many reports of leaks and the need to replace o-rings. The o-rings are a "consumable" item so you will need some of these as backups and spares if you need to replace the o-ring.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Lightly dented
