Review on KEDSUM 1060GPH Submersible Water Pump: Ultra Quiet, High Lift, & Versatile for Fountain, Pond, Fish Tank by Kelly Burton

I've been using this pump for the past few months to change the water in my 140 gallon tank. It worked fine for the first month, then problems with filling started, I put it in the tank, turned it on and it started working but didn't pump water. I would have to shake the pump to pump water. Last time it started making grinding noises so I went to pick it up as soon as it left the gravel (still in the water) the filter was shaking, the impeller sucked in one of my fish and killed it instantly. At this point I attempted to turn off the pump, whereupon the impeller itself slipped out of the housing where the rod that passed through the impeller to stabilize it broke in two. I don't know if I had lemon or if that's what you would expect from this brand, but I don't recommend it for aquariums.
