Review on Paul Rubens Watercolor Premium Watercolors by Angela Rodriguez

Just because it's 100% cotton doesn't mean it's any good!

I am a full-time professional artist and only use Arches, Fabriano Artistico, Saunders Waterford and Hahnemühle papers for commissioned work or anything I sell etc. I bought this type because I knew it one would be a bit on the cheap side and kind of junk. All I can say is, ah, down the road of Chinese shoddy quality. The paper is bad and the color of your watercolor is very dull. It's really like painting with mysterious color because you never know what color it will be when it dries. Paul Reuben's presentation is always bright and great, but it still dries up. Chinese goods. The leather cover has some glue on the leather from the making of the cover. 100% cotton hot-pressed paper yes, but it's junk! The glue around the block is black, it has soaked into the paper and has soaked it about half an inch into the block. Why they chose black is not clear to me, but it can be seen very clearly on the paper frame. Therefore you need to trim the edges of the paper so that they are not visible on the finished work. trash paper. Garbage and its DIRT! The cover of the book should also be made slightly larger, since the corners of the block are flush with the cover and are therefore easy to damage. It's genuine leather and has an elastic strap, but it's all crumpled and covered in glue. I bought it as a magazine to take watercolor sketches with me for fun and it failed miserably. So, like I said, I knew what I was buying and what it was for. It's good for crayons though! I was very surprised about that. so i benefit from it. Just because paper is 100% cotton doesn't mean it's good or awesome! Don't skimp on watercolor paper! Paper is more important than paint when it comes to watercolor painting. Believe me.
