I had to move the monitor away from the computer. It's an old work computer, so the video didn't require exceptional resolution. But I wanted a better picture than what I'm currently getting with the VGA extension cable. (VGA is all analog, so there was some ghosting when using an extender.) So this cable worked great because I was able to use the monitor's DVI connector instead. Because it was a fully digital signal path, the picture was very clean. Also, this cable is much thinner than my old VGA cables, making cable management easier.
