When the box arrived the first thing I noticed was that it wasn't the brand I ordered. I couldn't get a satisfactory answer to this question, but the Aeropro kit I received was pretty much the same as advertised. I had just started preparing my 2002 Silverado for a full paint job, so I didn't immediately pay much attention to the kit other than reading very limited information booklets. I hadn't painted a car since 1983 and was unfamiliar with HVLP pistols. I watched several hours of videos to educate myself and familiarize myself with the new technology. I should also note here that I used PPG Omni 2K Primer and PPG Omni Single Stage Acrylic Enamel Urethane as other paint types may spray differently. When I tried to clean the 1.8 pistol before applying the primer, I couldn't get it apart and decided to buy another pistol. However, one of the videos I watched says he only used 1.4 to spray everything. All you had to do was double the thinner and apply an extra coat or two of primer, which worked well. 1.4 worked as advertised, but I had a hard time taking it apart to clean it. Also, I had to use teflon tape to prevent air from escaping at the gun connection point. You MUST clean these guns before spraying paint and I also sprayed a few ounces of thinner through them after cleaning. If you're a DIY enthusiast and have never painted before, watch as many videos as you can, especially on the TCP website. After successfully painting the truck, I used a hammer and wrench with a 1.8 pistol in a vise, finally removing the tips and cleaning the pistol. Haven't used it yet but it seemed to work as advertised when I sprayed it with a reducer before putting it away. Also note that the kit does not include 1/4" fittings and you will need to purchase these separately.
