Purchased to drill holes in a 12" x 12" ceramic shower tile to install a handrail. I had to drill a total of six holes in the 1/2" tile plus the 1/2" concrete backing. I knew I didn't want to break or even crack the tile. These beats worked great. The secret of their work is that when cutting, water flows over them. I used a spray bottle to keep the bits wet. The hardest part was holding the drill in one place to start the chisel. So I used a 1/8" carbide drill bit (for cutting holes in glass) to drill a hole in the glazed tile and then a 5/16" carbide drill bit. A diamond crown was then used to enlarge the hole to its final size. When I was done, the diamond bits didn't wear at all. No cracked tiles, no broken tiles - perfect.
