It's misleading and doesn't work in most cases.

This test is very disappointing. I am receiving Reagent 2 to follow the directions exactly and expect to be able to use it as directed within 3-4 hours. I am going to test my pattern and it seems to "work". Then I add my iodine supplement and let it circulate for 30 minutes. When I go to test another sample it doesn't respond. I make sure to shake Reagent 2, but 2 drops won't cause the batter to turn blue. I don't understand how it doesn't work the second time when the instructions clearly say it's good for 3-4 hours. Should I make a batch for each test and wait 5 minutes? Find a new test.

Pros

CHARACTERISTICS: The correct functioning of the kits can be checked by performing the test in the usual way, except that a reference sample is used instead of the aquarium sample.
