Not recommended for heating mats
I bought this for my hermit crab tank. I have a 29g tank and thought that would be enough. I have the following problems: It doesn't heat up the tank enough even after working on it for a month. This can cause the temperature to drop too far before heating begins again. I will either have to buy a second heating mat or a whole new mat. My thermostat is set at 78⁰ which shows the tank at 82-83 on my hygrometer. When it finally gets to that temp just by me covering it and the tank it lets it drop to 73⁰ before turning back on.
