I mounted two of these magnetic switches in a simple piece of wood to serve as protection for my drill. Its downforce is impressive when the 'switch' is pressed, definitely enough to withstand any torque of a drilling operation. I think the borer will stop before it moves my fence. While using it, I zoom in on the fence's position and then press one of the switches to hold the overall position. Fine-tuning then becomes easy, as the free portion of the fence can be easily adjusted to precisely position the proposed hole, after which another switch is pressed to hold the fence securely in place. Once the process is complete you simply open the switches, remove the guard and in my case place the guard on the drill and drop the switches back down, holding onto them until next use. Very handy with a wide range of applications.
